THe LAST GIRL - Nadia Muirad
The Last Girl by Nadia Murad tells her true story as a Yazidi woman captured by ISIS in Iraq. She describes the violence, slavery, and genocide suffered by her community and her fight for justice after escaping. The book is geopolitically important because it reveals the impact of the war in Iraq and Syria, the failure to protect minorities after the Arab Spring, and the suffering of women in conflict zones. It received global recognition, and Nadia Murad was awarded the Nobel Peace Prize in 2018 for her activism against sexual violence in war.
